Fire Safety Certification
Certain products for which a GOST-R certificate was required also require a so-called fire protection certificate in accordance with TR TS 043/2017. These products are tested for their resistance to fire and their functional reliability, as well as for the formation of toxic gases.
Testing and certification may only be carried out by Russian bodies that are accredited for this. If a product requires the fire protection certificate, an EAC declaration of conformity is usually applied for.
Some examples of products for which a fire protection certificate is usually required:
- electrical and electrotechnical products (cables, telephones, refrigerators, etc.)
- Materials (many plastics, insulating materials, floor coverings, roofing materials, etc.)
- Construction products (e.g. cable ducts, construction products with fire protection function: cable and elevator ducts, doors, windows, etc.)
- Equipment for fire protection and fire services
